Introduction to the Blue Content Creators Programme
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is taking a significant step towards environmental sustainability with the launch of the Blue Content Creators Programme. This initiative, introduced by the National Media Authority in collaboration with key governmental bodies, aims to mentor 50 individuals in crafting impactful digital narratives focused on water sustainability.
Programme Objectives and Background
Launched in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Youth Authority, and supported by the New Media Academy, the programme is designed to enhance public awareness of critical water issues. It also seeks to underscore the UAE’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and international partnerships. As the nation gears up to co-host the 2026 United Nations Water Conference in Abu Dhabi, this initiative serves as a platform for nurturing informed digital storytellers who can contribute to global water sustainability dialogues.
Application Details and Eligibility Criteria
Applications for the programme are open from October 12 to 30, 2026. Interested candidates can submit their applications online at newmediaacademy.jotform.com/262791327482060. The programme invites UAE citizens and residents aged 18 to 35, who are passionate about media, water, and environmental sustainability, to participate. Candidates will be selected based on their skills, motivation, and ability to reflect the UAE’s diverse society.
Programme Structure and Learning Outcomes
Participants will engage in an intensive three-week training in November, scheduled from 5 PM to 9 PM, Monday through Thursday. The training will take place in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, accommodating the schedules of young professionals and students. The curriculum includes workshops on water issues, storytelling techniques, video production, digital publishing strategies, and the integration of AI tools in content creation.
Skills and Knowledge Acquisition
The programme is designed to empower participants with the ability to convert complex water-related subjects into captivating stories. By focusing on the nexus of water with human health, food security, energy, and sustainable development, the initiative aims to cultivate a new generation of responsible content creators. The training emphasizes the importance of storytelling, video, and digital platforms in fostering global cooperation for preserving water resources.
Post-Training Application
Upon completion of the training, participants will utilize their newly acquired skills to generate content for the upcoming UN Water Conference in December. This practical application will not only reinforce their learning but also provide a real-world platform to showcase their capabilities in digital storytelling and advocacy for water sustainability.
Impact and Future Prospects
The Blue Content Creators Programme is more than just a training initiative; it represents a strategic effort to engage the UAE’s youth in global environmental challenges. By equipping young content creators with the tools to influence public perception and policy through digital mediums, the programme contributes to building a sustainable future. As these individuals amplify their voices on international platforms, they play a crucial role in promoting water conservation and sustainability.
