Thanks to an early referral by her nephrologist, Dr. Rachna Sahityani, the transplant team was able to assess her conditions and strategize the transplant before dialysis became a necessity. This approach, known as a preemptive kidney transplant, typically results in better patient outcomes.
Advanced Surgical Techniques Employed
After thorough medical evaluations and compatibility assessments, a family member was approved to donate a kidney. The donor’s kidney was excised using robotic-assisted surgery at King’s College Hospital Dubai.
