The United Arab Emirates is experiencing a dynamic shift in weather patterns today, marked by cooler temperatures, anticipated rainfall, and gusty winds contributing to dusty conditions across various regions.
Rain and Cloud Coverage
According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the UAE is seeing a mix of fair to partly cloudy skies. The formation of convective clouds is expected in the northern, eastern, and southern parts of the country, increasing the likelihood of rain showers. Areas such as Fujairah, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain could potentially experience precipitation as these weather systems move through.
Cooling Temperatures Across the Emirates
In a notable change, temperatures are forecasted to dip, offering a respite from the recent heat. Ajman is anticipated to record the highest temperature at 36°C, followed closely by Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, and Ras Al Khaimah at 35°C. Abu Dhabi will see a slightly cooler high of 34°C, while Fujairah is predicted to remain the coolest at 33°C. Despite the decline in daytime heat, the NCM warns of increased humidity overnight and into the early hours of Wednesday, raising the possibility of fog or mist in some coastal and interior areas.
Wind Speeds and Dust Advisory
Winds are projected to be light to moderate, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25km/h, but could reach up to 45km/h in some internal regions. These gusts are likely to stir dust, potentially reducing visibility. Residents are advised to stay indoors during the peak of these conditions, ensuring that doors and windows are securely closed to prevent dust intrusion.
Sea Conditions in the Gulf and Sea of Oman
The NCM has also provided forecasts for maritime conditions, indicating slight to moderate seas in the Arabian Gulf, where wave heights could reach up to two feet onshore and four feet offshore. In the Sea of Oman, conditions are expected to be slight, with waves rising to two feet near the coast and three feet further out to sea.

Additionally, those living in areas prone to fog should be cautious while driving, as reduced visibility can pose significant risks.
As the UAE transitions into cooler months, these fluctuations mark the shift in seasonal patterns, with rain and wind adding to the changing climate dynamics. Residents and visitors are encouraged to stay updated with the latest forecasts and heed advice from local authorities to ensure safety and preparedness.
